The event started well in practice. Julian proved fast and clocked some really quick times. Unfortunately, in qualifying rain started to fall at alternate times, and its final outcome was conditioned by the track's evolution. In the very closing stages, five drivers improved their position under the checkered flag. The session ended with the Colombian in 10th place. A negative result that plagued all the rest of the weekend's development, as passing is notably a difficult task at Magny-Cours.

All in all, both the team and the driver are satisfied with the good job done on-track. Julian proved he can be fast and aggressive, while Trident Racing was once again able to provide him with one of the fastest cars in the pack.

Julian Leal: "I'm not quite satisfied with the results I keep scoring, despite both me and the team proved some great potential in terms of laptimes. Now we have a long stop, and I'll be trying to work on my physical condition, in order to be stronger in the second half of the championship".
